"I probably had the most influence on the international side," Miller told Automotive News in 2003. "In the early days of Ford, the overseas [administration] was separate from the U.S. It was run out of New York. It was duplication and very costly. I ... thought that we ought to get rid of the overseas staff and do everything through a single staff in Dearborn. That was really a big decision, but Henry Ford backed me up and we did that."
Screen wash has a lower freezing temperature than water alone, so you shouldn’t end up with frozen washer jets, although they can still become blocked if there's a particularly heavy frost or freezing rain gets into them.
What you must not do is apply the brakes, as this will only make the situation worse. Instead, a light application of the throttle should settle the rear end down, so that you can take some steering lock off and follow the corner round. Through all this, you should be looking to where you want to go, as this will help you keep the car under control.
With plenty of low-down grunt, it’s all too easy to overwhelm the rear wheels, especially if you have the traction control switched off. At first, this can feel a little disconcerting, but with time you learn to trust the big Jag – its long wheelbase ensuring that slides happen slowly and controllably. Before you know it, you’ll be playing with the throttle through long corners, the rear happily carving an angle wider than the front. It’s addictive, childish, raw fun.
He attempted to enlist in the U.S. military during World War II but was rejected because of poor eyesight, The New York Times reported. Miller was later drafted into the Army Air Forces, where he taught fledgling pilots on a flight simulator and then enrolled in a statistical program for officers at Harvard.
The Harvard group's leader, Col. Charles "Tex" Thornton, told Henry Ford II the young men could improve cost efficiency at Ford just as they had in the Air Force. The meeting gave Miller an early preview of the some of lax cost controls at the company.
Infiniti has teased that a new SUV – most likely the next-generation QX50 – will be revealed ahead of the Los Angeles Motor Show at a set-piece Infiniti event on 28 November.
That’s why we asked owners of 14,208 cars to tell us if their cars had suffered any faults in the past 12 months. Until a relatively short time ago, Faraday Future was principally funded by Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting, whose main business is the internet and telecom giant LeEco. Yueting's businesses kept Faraday afloat up until this spring, when unpaid loan payments forced a court in China to freeze some $182 million in assets. As this source of cash dried up, Faraday Future embarked on a cash-raising campaign this spring, seeking to attract new investors mostly by publishing videos of the FF91 prototype. The startup was also forced to drop plans for a $1 billion factory just outside of Las Vegas and sought out a smaller existing facility in California with some effort. The halt of LeEco funding has also forced Faraday to place its Formula E team into hibernation, and to whittle down a planned lineup of seven electric models to just two.
