Its genesis was in 1975 with the rear-wheel-drive Mk1, which headed into a cutthroat battle for fleet sales against the ubiquitous Ford Cortina. But by the time the Mk3 was thrust into action, the Cortina had bitten the dust, leaving its replacement, the Ford Sierra, to pick up the baton. And for years, it was these two titans alone vying for the top of the new-car sales charts, leaving realtive minnows, such as the Austin Montego and Nissan Bluebird, picking up the scraps.

Seat first confirmed it would be adding a large SUV to its range in March, but 2015's 20V20 concept car showed the company's ambitions for such a car.
However, ABS isn't an impenetrable safety net. It's not an excuse to drive into hazards more quickly, and doesn't mean you can drive closer to the vehicle in front - yes it does help to reduce braking distances, but you should maintain distance so you don't need to put the ABS to use. Plus, on slippery surfaces, bear in mind that ABS doesn’t work as well – and on sheet ice, nothing will stop you except crashing into the kerbside or another object. Safe speed is the key for winter driving.
When Chevrolet started offering the 1LE performance package for the V-6 Camaro last year, our initial conclusion was that the company had indeed moved the grip-to-grunt ratio too far to the left. At the 2016 running of our Lightning Lap competition, the junior 1LE shone, smashing the lap record for its class by more than eight seconds. But on the road, it was obvious that the chassis’s ability to produce lateral g-forces wasn’t matched by the engine’s harvest of back-punching longitudinal g’s.

Daniel’s girlfriend, 21-year-old civil servant Liza Matvejera, was a fan of how you sit higher up in the Arona than you do in a supermini, such as the SEAT Ibiza.
Burns said that with the potential for high-volume production (and long-term support), lining up Tier 1 suppliers for the USPS project hasn’t been an issue. So it was a natural next step to develop a commercial-van version at the same time. Panasonic (Tesla) Batteries, BMW Range Extender The N-Gen and Workhorse’s W-15 pickup will share quite a lot, including their composite body construction. Burns told Car and Driver that they’ll use the same batteries: Panasonic 18650-format cells, a “commodity” format that is roughly AA size and essentially the same as is used in the Tesla Model S and Model X, among other vehicles. But what’s different is the range extender. While the production version of the W-15 will use a 1.5-liter three-cylinder BMW range extender, the N-Gen is going to use the 647-cc two-cylinder Kymco-built engine from the BMW i3, Burns said. That’s because, while the van would only be aimed at commercial use, with well-defined driving loops and the range extender strictly as an emergency crutch, the pickup is being designed with a wider operating range—including sustaining its peak power after the battery is depleted.
And the Corvette is on its original 5.7-liter V8 engine, though Blackwell recently had to get the headgasket replaced at around 750,000 miles.

“I always thought it was some help coming from a rural situation,” Miller told The New York Times in 1966. “You aren’t so perplexed about the world: Milk came from a cow, not from the grocery store. Eggs came from a chicken.”
